Jonty brings 30 years of experience co-founding startups, working in operating roles at leading Silicon Valley technology companies, and investing in dozens of early stage startups.

Before focusing full-time on investing via King River and Fantail Ventures, he helped lead the global commercial business of Palantir, worked in executive roles for Google and DoubleClick; co-founded technology and e-commerce startups in the London and New York City, and a media company in Shanghai. Early in his career, he helped establish Macquarie Bank in New Zealand.

He serves as Chair of defense tech maritime intelligence provider Starboard, and on the Boards of asset admin platform Caruso, and financial data provider Valocity. He also serves as Chair of the NZ Dementia Prevention Trust, and on the Board of Governors at Kings College.

Jonty holds a BA in Philosophy and a BCom in Finance from Otago University, New Zealand. He is a graduate of the Stanford Law School’s Directors’ College and holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, London.
